Thank you to everyone who entered the December Giveaway.
My trip to New York was wonderful. If you have never visited NYC then I recommend you put it on your 'to do' list, the place just has a vibe about it and you'll feel like you're on a film set. The shopping is amazing and I spent a great deal of time in my favourite shop, Sephora on Times Square, in fact I visited that shop everyday.
Anyway, the winners of the goodies I purchased from Sephora are @Jo_Bryan @sherrie821 and @cheekychicken24 Well done ladies, if you can DM me your address details on twitter I will get your goodies to you as soon as I can

H20 + - Sea Pure Skin Care

Transform your skin with the power of the sea. H20+ is sea-derived skin care, it is 98% natural, 100% vegan, biodegradable, does not contain synthetic fragrances, parabens, petrochemicals, phthalates and sulphates. Sea Pure Creamy Facial Cleanser - The cleanser has a lovely citrus smell and is a nice consistency, it lathers up well the more you work it and feels nice and creamy on the skin, please be careful not to get it in your eyes as it really stings. There is no tight feeling once it is removed and skin feels lovely and soft, If you use long wearing foundation and lipstick, as I do, then you will need to remove your make up before using this cleanser as it is not effective at removing heavy make up. As a morning cleanser it is fabulous and the citrus smell wakes you up. Sea Pure Gentle Refining Polish - The polish has the same citrus smell as the cleanser. I loved this product, it wasn't too harsh but you could feel that it was really polishing your skin, but you knew that you wouldn't be able to overdo it and harm the skin. I have quite flaky eyelids and found it gentle enough to use around the eye area. I used this product every other day for 7 days and then found I only needed to use it a couple of times of week, it is also fabulous to use on the neck and chest area. Skin feels as smooth as glass after use and make up goes on like a dream. Sea Pure Renewing Prep Tonic - The tonic also has a lovely citrus fragrance. This was my favourite product of all. I used this after I had cleansed, I used it again after I had exfoliated, it removed all traces of product and really hydrated the skin and gave it a lovely glow. I even decanted some into a small spray bottle and popped this is my handbag and took it to work. I used throughout the day to spritz over my face and freshen up my make up. Absolutely loved this product. Sea Pure Deep Moisture Cream - The moisture cream had the same citrus fragrance as the previous products. The moisture cream has a very strange consistency and not what I was expecting at all, it is more like a gel/cream, I expected a very thick cream so was pleasantly surprised. The moisturiser does take a while to sink into the skin but I took this opportunity to give my face a small massage, once absorbed there is no tackiness on the skin and I was left with hydrated glowing skin, and a perfect base for make up. I was very impressed with the moisture cream once I got used to it. Sea Pure Perfecting Eye Cream - The eye cream had the same citrus fragrance as other products. This was probably my least favourite of the collection. I found it difficult to get it to absorb into the skin, I tried using less but then my eyes did not feel moisturised enough and this was evident when applying concealer. I then started to use this product just at night, when it didn't matter if it wasn't absorbed properly and was really pleased with how rested and hydrated the skin around my eyes looked in the morning, so I have now slotted this product into my night time routine instead. Overall I have thoroughly enjoyed reviewing these products, my skin feels smoother and has a healthy glow to it, my make up goes on smoother and looks fresher for longer. Funnily enough the biggest difference I have noticed is to the skin around my eyes and this is with the product that I liked the least. The lines are less noticeable, the skin is hydrated and even my dark circles have faded. For more information on these products please visit their website at www.h2oplus.com. For your information the sample products I received were complimentary from BeautyStat. This review is my own objective opinion about these products |
NOVEMBER GIVEAWAY

But first a little story as to why I have chosen this giveaway............
When I began my career as an air hostess I initially worked the domestic and European routes, this meant that I was only away from home for 2 or 3 nights in a row, I then ventured into the world of long haul. My first long haul experience was a 5 day trip to Antigua. Now, I have to confess that I am not a fan of the heat or the beach and this destination was my idea of hell, I am much more of a city girl and prefer to be surrounded by shops rather than palm trees.
Anyway, by day two I was sitting in my room crying from sheer boredom, the rest of the crew were either sunbathing, participating in water sports or trying not to kill themselves on a zip wire ride. I would only see the rest of the crew when we met up in the bar in the evenings for dinner and cocktails, even that was boring as we were nowhere near the town. However, I recall one hysterical evening when an innocent game of Twister turned into Naked Twister, thank god I was just a spectator and not a participant, let's just say I saw a lot more of my crew members than I needed to on that night!!
Anyway, I decided that on my next long haul trip I would go more prepared, and so Jude's mini pamper hamper was born. On my long haul beach destinations I would pack a hair colour, fake tan, face masks, hair masks, manicure/pedicure equipment, bath products and candles. On arrival at the hotel I would light my candles and the Jude pamperthon would begin. I would basically turn my hotel room into my own little spa and pamper myself to within an inch of my life, I would also perform manicures and pedicures on my balcony for other crew members.
I hung up my wings 2 years ago but whenever I go away I still take a mini pamper hamper with me to turn the hotel room into MY room. I have decided to make up a special Jude's Mini Pamper Hamper for one of my lovely followers, it will contain travel sizes of some of my favourite products to allow you to pamper yourself whether you are going away for a weekend or just staying at home.
To enter this giveaway you need to do 2 little things.......

ALEPPO SOAP

I was lucky enough to receive a bar of this wonderful soap from @DevonDeb on Twitter.
This soap is from Aleppo, a city and province in Northern Syria. The original and first soap was created there over 2000 years ago. The soap is made between November and March, taking 6 to 9 months for the soap to dry on racks laid out in cool, naturally aerated arches. In the course of drying, the outside becomes a beautiful deep gold with the centre a rich olive green. The soaps are cut into blocks and stamped with the mark of the maker.
The soap contains Olive Oil and Sweet Bay Oil. it is 100% natural and ethically sourced.
The soap can be used to wash body, hair and even laundry, it can also be used as a moth repellent.
The soap I received contained Rose Essential oil and was a substantial sized bar.
This soap is beautiful, the first couple of times I used it there was a decent amount of lather to it but this diminished the more times I used it. I have used the soap on my body and face and there has been no tightness as with other 'natural' soaps. I have used it in place of shaving foam to shave my legs and it worked a treat with no need to moisturise afterwards. My 12 year old daughter has 'super sensitive' skin, she has also used the soap to wash her face and has had no adverse reaction to it.
Usually with 'natural' soaps I find that as soon as they get wet they start to dissolve, but I am happy to say that I have been using this soap every day for at least a couple of weeks and this has not happened, I get the feeling this is going to last me quite a while.
This soap comes in bars with or without essential oil and is also available as a liquid soap.
You can order or make enquiries at whatdebloves@live.co.uk or contact Deb through Twitter @DevonDeb

A giveaway to celebrate my new blog
17 October 2010
40 comments
So here it is at last, my brand new blog. It's been a labour of love and something that I have been wanting to do for a long time.
My intention is to let you know my opinion on a wide range of things, and believe me I have an opinion on almost everything. I hope to be doing some reviews on anything from books to beauty and I'll always tell you exactly what I think and not what the authors or manufacturers would like me to say.
I have lots of funny stories to share with you, most of which come from my days as an air hostess with British Airways, and some interesting stories from my time as a beauty therapist and my current career as an investigator.
Anyway, to celebrate my new blog I have decided to do a giveaway. You could win a Burt's Bees Citrus & Ginger Root Body wash and Burt's Bees Honey & Orange Wax Body Lotion.
All you need to do is follow my blog and leave a comment about anything you like, can you also leave your twitter name so that I can announce the winner on there. The giveaway will end at 12pm on Thursday 21st October and the winner will be selected at random by random org.
